At the same time, the Legal Service of the EU Council stressed that Budapest was unable to stop these payments because it refrained during the vote early this year for the creation of the Fund. The reason that entitles the bypass is that the funds do not come from the EU taxpayers, the EU officials emphasized.

The funds are expected not to be refunded, as is traditionally happened in the case of UAF, but to the direct purchase of equipment, including ammunition and air defense. About 25% of this amount will be used to purchase in the Ukrainian industry.
