The words of the head were supplemented in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In particular, they indicated that a 12-year-old girl was seriously injured: she was planned to be sent to Kiev. 10 police officers and 12 children were injured. Later, the information on the wounded was updated by Acting Mayor of Chernihiv Alexander Lomaka: The number increased to 117. The Russian rocket hit Chernihiv Drama Theater in the afternoon on August 19 - when there were many peaceful people on the streets.

In the first minutes after the blow, it was known about five dead and almost two dozen wounded. A fire broke out on the roof of the building, which was eliminated by rescuers. Later, the death toll increased - reported the death of a child that doctors could not save. The mother of the child was in a serious condition in the hospital.
