When October 7 was an attack by Hamas fighters on Israel, Tatiana and her family were in a border with the Gaza Ashkelone sector. What happened forced her to flee from the second war in a relatively short period of time. "Then I realized that I wanted to go home. Maybe it is not necessary to speak, but if I was killed, though on my native land, not here," the Ukrainian woman said. Its history is not unique. More than 30,000 Ukrainians have been sheltered from the Russian invasion of Israel and Gaza.
According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelinsky, 4,000 citizens have already left Israel, and the government is working to bring out those who remained in gas. Anna Lyashko also decided to return to Kiev, when combat clashes began in Israel. "I looked at my daughter in my eyes, and the only thing I saw is fear. We stayed there for another day, evaluate circumstances, understand what to do. I realized that I could not stay there," she said about the choice which many Ukrainians have to do.
