"Dronov safari on the streets": how Russia attacks Kherson and what Ukrainians protect against shelling

To spread: after the de -occupation in November 2022, Kherson remains a front city where Russians attack Ukrainians daily, spending millions of dollars. The head of the NGO "City of Force" Yevgeny Hlyn, who helps Kherson residents since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of focus about fighting in the region and how people adapt to them.

How does the Russian army attack Kherson now? How do strokes differ from shelling of other cities? We recently calculated: in the period from March 2024 to April 2025, the Russians fired at Kherson region 45 thousand times, which is an average of 125 shelling daily. But one "arrival" is not necessarily one projectile (rocket or mine, etc. ), it is usually 5-10 shells, so 125 arrivals a day are 200-400 missiles, drones or artillery.

Compared to Kiev, the density of shelling at 200 rockets and drones was recently (after Easter). The last year is so daily attacked by 30% of the occupied part of the Kherson region on the Right Bank. Daily in Kherson is fixed 15-40 drones, above each of the main quarters are drones. You can't move around the city without knowing where the drones are. The chats constantly dismiss information on the location of the movement of drones on which streets and where they are fixed.

Imagine - the drone sits on the roof of the house to save electricity and, thanks to the camera, looks at what is happening on the street. When the car passes, the drone rises and attacks it. Or it goes a cyclist or a person goes, no matter who. You understand clearly that it is just a drone safari. The Russians just hunt minibuses, trolleybuses, cars. And this is a daily story. The terror of the population occurs, because there is no such logic that military goals or military equipment are attacked.

There is no military in the city of Kherson, every Kherson knows it, as in other settlements where the civilian population lives. In 100% of cases, the victims are civil. Honestly, I do not know any occasion when the military was injured in the city. Police, ambulances, trolleybuses, minibuses - it has always been. I think that they actually use Kherson as a landfill.

By the nature of the drones maneuvers in Kherson, we understand that these are some beginners in the Russian army are learning to attack moving goals. Why study for any fixed purposes there somewhere at the landfill, if there are defenseless "fast" or civilian residents of Kherson? Muscovites think it is better to learn from civilians. And it comes out just like safari. They simply cannot kiss in the military, because he will notice and get out of the car in advance, or turn on the remedy.

And civilians are a light target, and they learn from us. What is the situation with the protection from drones, missiles, from shells? What measures are taken, how much does it help? Now all civilian residents have the opportunity to monitor in the chats the situation from the front, and the front is the streets of the city. There are various chats that publish prompt information about which street on which the intersection is seen one or another drone.

For example, Mavic, FPV, "Orlans" or any other people who have drones have detectors. Ordinary residents are connected to chat, and who works with infrastructure, in utility companies, who work in public organizations, volunteer, evacuates and distributes help - have drone detectors. Our teams are also provided with detectors. There are different models, they are constantly changing: frequencies, type of communication, etc.

We are currently using technologies when performing humanitarian missions that allow you to connect to drone optics and see what the camera transmits. In this way, our volunteers can already identify them and see where they fly specifically. You see not only the radius of stay, but also what he sees specifically - that is, where it is. We have already seen drones on the fiber flying in Kherson. This is a very difficult story.

It is impossible to detect them on a radio or a video at all, but they are constantly present in Kherson. The military on the fronts make whole corridors from nets on the roads. Maybe something is in Kherson? Unfortunately, there is no such net in Kherson. Everything that is - is the operational coordination between the population when people interact with each other and agree. Plus our volunteers have their chats, where we report: what is flying, where, at what speed, etc.

People live and keep, in fact, on faith. Last Thursday, I went to the area where our ward is 70 years old. She lives alone in a 9-storey building near the Dnieper slope, which has been fired at at least three times, even more so, the last time it was before Easter, the whole house was burning at that time. The red line goes to that street, and according to our observations, in a week or two, it will be all in the red area.

This is a symbol of territories that should not be civil at all, because it is difficult to deliver the humanitarian to repair after shelling, to evacuate people. And to help people exist in the area is very dangerous for volunteers, utility workers and more. The woman remained in the house. I told her, "Mrs. Olga, let's reset you, we will find a house, you will live on from the red area where it is safer. " But she says, "No, I believe - everything will be fine.

" You can also turn to any person, and you will be told: that all is well, God saves, "here is over us. " You understand that there is no logic in these words, but they have such a strong feeling in the heart. And you see that she is whole and her house is whole, everything is burned, and the house stands. Maybe it really works if you believe. On the other hand, safety is uncertain, you are constantly alert. We sometimes hear what the Kherson people say.

For example, they agree to meet on Perekopskaya Street, which is close to the Dnieper to drink coffee and talk. One says, "You have a drone detector? Super, take with you to know about approaching. " They drink coffee without constantly monitoring, which shows the device. Suddenly - they run. In Kiev or Odessa, residents check the Google Map whether there are congestion on the street. Kherson has a completely different life in this regard.

People constantly check where the drone is and where it is not, on which the streets it is and from it build their routes, logistics. How do hostilities near Kherson, what are the features of this area of the front? Recently, there have been at least three large -scale attempts to transfer troops of the Russian army from the left to the right bank of the Dnieper.

Working in Kherson, we get information that, while accumulating a large contingent on the left bank, the Russian army, as a result, is to motivate only a significant number of military to move to the right bank. From the last campaign, Osinters noticed a four thousand army on the left bank.

According to our military, only 500 people tried to move, and they all remained fertilizer on the left bank or went to crayfish in the Dnieper, because our positions are very fortified, now the only thing that remains the Russian army is to nightmare civilians or to beat "sparrows. " They cannot be transferred because the mouth of the Dnieper is wide enough from Zaporozhye itself to force it.

Although we get information that they have a fivefold set for forcing the Dnieper, that is, the number of pontoons, boats and more, to cross the troops and fix themselves on the right side - sometimes such information comes from different sources. Today, we are more likely to think that this is some absurd history, because we have been hearing for a long time.

We see how it happens when they are thrown around in the Kizomis area when they try to cross the railway bridge, but we know that there are no civilians. When civilians remain in coastal settlements, unfortunately, it greatly complicates military logistics and military actions. But the Russians have no chance. The worst thing is that it is a remote "nightmare" of civilians.

It should be understood that the right bank is only 30% of this territory, but as of April 1, 145 thousand people live here, and it is a very serious picture. When I was in Kherson Last Week - four cabin curtains in the city arena. Imagine a metal structural, which is covered with a tarpaulin, a stupid pavilion, as in the bazaar. Around - field. If one Cab costs from $ 300,000, they have thrown $ 1. 2 million across this pavilion.
