Not only in family circumstances: the military will allow you to go on vacation during the war

Defenders will officially be able to take 10 days of leave without taking into account the time for travel. The authors of the law believe that the military has the right to go home not only for family circumstances and valid reasons. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Bill No. 8081 as a basis, which allows the Ukrainian military to take a vacation during martial law. The People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced this in his Telegram-channel.

He specified that 330 parliamentarians voted for the legislative changes in the first reading. If the law is adopted in the second reading, it will cancel the current norm, according to which defenders can only go on vacation for family circumstances and other valid reasons. The bill enables servicemen to take a vacation for 10 calendar days without taking into account the time spent on a trip to the place of vacation (but this time cannot exceed two days at one end).

The holiday days are taken with the preservation of cash. The explanatory note to the bill states that the military still have the right to take a vacation for four specific reasons: however, all the above points concern only peacetime. During the martial law, the military may take a vacation due to family circumstances and other valid reasons. At the same time, the authors of the bill are convinced that Ukrainian defenders may have other reasons to take a vacation.

As specified, the desire to see loved ones and family members can also be sufficient reason. Such an opportunity will be the military if parliamentarians have approved the bill as a whole. We will remind, in the Verkhovna Rada also want to allow the Ukrainian military to travel abroad during martial law so that they can visit relatives.
