Mobilization in Ukraine: Which family cannot call the Armed Forces

Currently, Ukrainian legislation does not forbid the CCC to mobilize his father and son at the same time. However, there are some exceptions for certain categories of citizens. In Ukraine, during mobilization, several able -bodied men from the same family can be called. This was reported by lawyer Ilya Shipko.

Ukrainian legislation does not provide for a ban on mobilization of able -bodied men from one family, as a result, there is no legislative prohibition on the simultaneous conscription of the father and son. "If the father and son/sons are suitable for military service and have reached mobilization age, they can be mobilized even at the same time.

However, it should be understood that there are exceptions for certain categories of persons and then such mobilization may not happen," the lawyer said. According to Shipko, a father and son can not be called in a family where there is a woman with disabilities in a family. According to the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization and Mobilization Training", it must be caring for it and therefore has the right to defer.

The legislation does not determine who is the right to defer, and therefore "the father and son have to personally decide who will be mobilized," the lawyer said. Also there can be a mobilized man with his father, if there are three children up to 18 years of age. Since, according to Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine, the father will have a deferral from the call. "To date, there is a legislative opportunity to simultaneously mobilize his father and son.
