Russia will exclude Ukrainian from the school program: what regions are referred to

To spread: from the Federal General Program (FZOP) in Russia plan to exclude the study of Ukrainian. On such a step, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation went through "a change in the geopolitical situation in the world. " This is stated in the explanatory note of the department, reports "Kommersant". In the block dedicated to teaching the mother tongue in schools of national republics, the Ukrainian language program now has completely loses its validity.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which are based on the results of the academic year-2023/24, the Ukrainian language was studied as a native language without fail in Russian schools only in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. However, at the request of parents, it was also taught in a number of schools in the occupied territories of Lugansk and Donetsk regions, in occupied Crimea and even Bashkortostan.

According to Radio Liberty, the abolition of the federal program does not mean the cancellation of teaching. Schools can use their programs for the subject. Whether the Ukrainian language program is re -written is not specified in the document.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian defender named Valery, who recently returned home as part of the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine while in captivity, studied the Ukrainian language thanks to other captive brothers from the western regions of our country. While Russia is planning to exclude Ukrainian from the school program, it is introduced in Poland to study as a second foreign one.

According to the current legislation of this country, schools can already introduce Ukrainian language lessons, if parents want, there is a prepared teacher and a formed group of students, as well as the consent of the administration of the educational institution. The Ministry of Education of Ukraine calls for parents to apply to schools with appropriate requests, and in case of problems - to inform the Ukrainian Embassy.
