President during a special meeting of the European Council: The beginning of today reflects our key need now - a defense of air defense

Dear Charles, Mr. President! Road Ursulo, Mrs. President! Dear colleagues! Thank you for your attention to Ukraine. This morning in Ukraine began with the next strike of Russian terrorists. In our city of Chernihiv. Winged rockets against ordinary civilian construction. Many homes, hospital were damaged, the hotel was completely destroyed. People were under the rubble. In total, more than 60 wounded, including children. Unfortunately, 17 people were killed. My condolences to anyone who lost my loved ones.

And so it happens daily. This reflects our key need now - aircraft. In Ukraine, in Ukraine, in our part of Europe, unfortunately, there is no such level of protection that we have all seen in the Middle East. When, thanks to the united power of the Allies, almost all the rockets and drones that was attacked by Israel were managed.

We only convince that we also need to defend Europe from ballistics and Shahaneda, from winged missiles and bombs, as happened in the sky of Israel and other countries in the region. Ours, the Ukrainian sky, the sky of our neighbors deserves the same safety. And I thank everyone who also perceives our need for safety - as a need for equal safety for everyone, because all lives are equally valuable and equal.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine today managed to hit the important military object of the occupier, which was located in the Crimea. By destroying Russian equipment there, we can feel more confidence for our soldiers in the south of Ukraine - in the front line.

And this reflects not the first, but not the second key thing in this war: the greater our percussion opportunities, the more the Russian occupier will be forced to leave the sovereign territory of Ukraine, and thanks to this he will be forced to give peace to each of the neighbors, the whole of Europe. Our ability to defend against Russian terror and weapons in the hands of our soldiers is that it works not only for the sake of Ukraine, but also for all of you.

And I thank each of you who understands it and acts on the basis of it. We now have a German urgent decision to supply Ukraine's supplement to Ukraine and missiles for air defense. This will really help. I thank you, Olafe, for promptness. However, we have more need. Russia has already destroyed almost all our thermal electrical generation. Under the strokes of terrorists - dams and equipment of hydroelectric power plants, as well as gas infrastructure.

We also see that Russia does not give up radiation blackmail and, in particular, continues to play with the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. We do not rule out that the infrastructure of other nuclear power plants and distribution networks is also threatened with Russian terror. This can only be stopped by the PTROT, Iris-T, SAMP/T, NASAMS. Systems that are in particular at your disposal. They are needed in Ukraine right now.

They are needed for Putin to be deprived of the habit of relying on terrorist methods, and this is, in particular, your security need. Further. Weapons for our soldiers. Shells for our artillery. Machinery. Drones. Everything to keep the front. Now the Russian army is experiencing its power in almost everything concerning the armed component. And it is because of this advantage - in artillery, in technique, in the opportunity to act in the sky - they press on us on the front and gradually move.

Putin now hopes that he will succeed, and the only root of such hope is a shortage of weapons in our soldiers. We have to snatch this threat root. We are actively working with the United States to get the appropriate Congress decision on the US Support package. I ask each of you to communicate with American partners so that their support is really. We also expect that European leadership in security issues will also be no less decisive for Ukraine and in general - globally.

Now is the time in the world when all parts of the world should be managed for the sake of common security, and is losing some of the world whose unity whose leadership whose production capabilities in terms of defense will prove insufficient. Europe has to win this time. I thank everyone for the initiative and participation in coalitions for the sake of supporting Ukraine, our defense and security forces. I thank everyone whose efforts are really effective.

However, unfortunately, we have not yet seen a million artillery shells from the European Union, which we talked so much. Also, some other initiatives are filled for one hundred percent, and this is primarily felt in what our warriors can now manage at the front and that they are still forced to expect. I ask you to accelerate the implementation of our arrangements with you - both for supply and joint production of weapons and shells, and the financing of relevant projects.

We also need special support from the point of view of our energy - in every sense of the word. Of course, primarily in the sense of the energy sector. To restore normal generation and electricity distribution after Russian blows. We appreciate the real assistance of each of you with equipment and finances. We also need a very specific support for the energy of our society - energy of spirit, energy of stability. This is what belongs to the field of politics.

We need that the European Union really fulfill what has promised, and that our people see how Ukraine is approaching full membership. June is a good time for the actual beginning of negotiations with Ukraine on membership. Accordingly, we need to approve the negotiation frame and hold the first intergovernmental conference. We do not forget about the energy of justice - what is at the heart of our Europe we appreciate it, what we want to save it.

Sanctions against Russia for terror should be strengthened. It's fair. Russian assets that are now frozen should work for the protection of life from Russian terror. It is also fair. And please work on the restriction of Russian wages . . . Europe can provide zero tolerance for everything that gives Russia profit for terror and destabilization. It will also be fair and effective.
