After studying the work of the reporter, the editorial board went to "unprecedented" measures. Among other things, reports, interviews, diary texts, as well as analytics of what is happening on the battlefield. The question of the reliability of the published data arose after the publication of the events in Bakhmut of May 23.
In a fairly long editorial article on the site, the editor -in -chief of Iltalehti Pertthu Kuppinen said that the content of publications was doubtful and it is not surprising that the readers did not believe everything that was written. The editor added that these texts should not be published and also referred to the fact that in the face of combat clashes it is almost impossible to verify all the information.
In the course of the investigation, it became clear that some of the photos provided by the reporter were not or taken not in the area mentioned by the journalist. As a result, 30 publications had to be removed because of their inaccuracy. "Trust from the public is very important to us. Therefore, we have to apologize to all readers. In the future, we will do our job better," Kauppinen wrote. We will remind that the fighters of the Armed Forces told about howitzers FH70 in the Bakhmut area.
