Russian troops want to cut off the Armed Forces from an important supply line in Donetsk region, their attacks are still unsuccessful - a map of hostilities

The Russian army is probably increasingly using unprepared and poorly trained units in Ukraine (for example, recruited from prisoners) - in particular to control the population in occupied parts of Ukraine. The American Institute for War (ISW) reports this in its new summary on August 8.

Its experts suggest that Russian battalions, recently formed to compensate for the losses of the Russian Federation, are "probably worse prepared, less professional and even more cruel" about Ukrainians in occupied lands than professional Russian soldiers or even conscripts who have passed at least formal military training shock in Ukraine.
