Working for Russian purposes will not make Poland a war participant - Kuleba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to persuade European colleagues to make EU countries permission to knock down missiles and drones over Ukraine. Dmytro Kuleba has already reached some arrangements with the Polish minister. Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleb will urge partners to allow Poland to knock down Russian drones and missiles. He told about it on August 29 in an interview with Politico.

The diplomat shared that he would ask his colleagues at the EU ministerial meeting to allow the use of air defense in European countries. In particular, Poland can protect part of Ukraine's airspace. "I do not question Poland's willingness to create protective mechanisms, they can't do it on our own. We need partners to support them in this," Kuleba emphasized. He assured that the argument for the participation of EU countries in the war in this case is false.

"You do not enter the war by knocking down a rocket or a drone that flies in your direction and can actually harm your own territory," the minister said. On August 28, Kuleba reported on his social network X (earlier - Twitter) that he met with a Polish colleague Radoslav Sikorsky. According to the Foreign Minister, they "agreed on further steps to create the opportunity for Ukraine's neighbors to intercept Russian missiles and drones in the Ukrainian airspace.

" The Minister also told in an interview that it is important for Ukraine to convince allies to allow Western weapons to deeply strikes in the Russian Federation. He noted that mostly this decision depends on the US and the United Kingdom. "The European Union is a fundamentally important support in the coalition to support Ukraine and can and must play a role in the United States' conviction to make this decision," Kuleba stressed.

He added that as soon as Ukraine will receive permission and enough missiles for such blows, it will "work". However, negotiations are currently underway to blows deep into Russia. We will remind, the Excellence of Defense of Poland Janusz Onyshkevich stated that the decision to eliminate the air goals of the Russian Federation over Ukraine can be made without the involvement of NATO. He called on the government "not to bury his head in the sand.
