"Threat to Transcarpathian Residents": Hungary will not provide weapons transit for Ukraine

According to the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the country, Gergel Gulyash, Hungary is in a "special geopolitical situation" and takes care of the safety of more than 100,000 ethnic Hungarians in western Ukraine. On January 12, the head of Hungarian Prime Minister Gergeli said that the country's administration does not plan to supply weapons to Ukraine and refuses to transmit through its territory for weapons.

Budapest took this position because of the "geopolitical situation", Gulyash said on Hirado, which was broadcast by MTVA. According to the official, the Hungarian side takes care of the safety of more than 100,000 ethnic Hungarians living in Transcarpathia. "In Hungary, a special geopolitical situation is that we could only carry weapons through Transcarpathia, and therefore we do not participate in supply.

This is necessary to protect hundreds of thousands of Hungarians who live there," Gulyash explained. The Hungarian politician also commented on the supply of heavy armored vehicles to Western countries, including German Leopard German tanks. He noted that when Western countries, including Germany, wanted to avoid the threat of the beginning of the World War, Hungary always warned of the danger of escalation of conflict in Ukraine.

Gulyash also stressed that each government decides how far it wants to go in support of Ukraine, however, if at least one NATO member state intervenes, it will lead to the beginning of the Third World War. We will remind, on January 7, the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban stated that due to the crisis of the Western centric world order, the result of which the war in Ukraine allegedly became, the event began a new "Cold War".
