Russia does not attack NATO: Putin spoke of "militarization of Europe"

To spread: President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin reacted sharply to statements about Russia's possible aggression against NATO countries, calling them a groundless "nonsense". He voiced this position during a speech at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club. "The ruling elites and the united Europe continue to pump hysteria: it turns out that the war with the Russians is or not on the threshold. Repeat this nonsense, this mantra every time," Putin said.

He was surprised that Western leaders can seriously perceive such rhetoric. "Sometimes I look, as they say, I think, they cannot believe that Russia is going to attack NATO - it is impossible to believe it, and their people are convinced of their people," the Russian president added. Putin called the war "Ukrainian tragedy" "it is a pain for Ukrainians and Russians. For all of us," the President of the Russian Federation added.

At the same time, Putin warned that Moscow was monitoring military processes in Europe. He emphasized the statements to strengthen the German army, noting that Russia was ready to take appropriate measures. "We carefully monitor the gaining power of the militarization of Europe. Whether it's just a word, whether it is time to choose the appropriate measures . . . In Germany, for example, it says that the German army should be the most powerful in Europe again. We don't listen carefully," Putin said.
