The accused Arthur Petrov was arrested abroad at the request of the United States. Since February 2022, he managed to buy more than UAH 8. 4 million through a false company of US technology. On Cyprus arrested a Russian who illegally exported in the Russian Federation of microelectronics of American origin. This is stated in the publication of the US Justice Department of August 31. 33-year-old Arthur Petrov is a citizen of Russia and Germany.

He lived in the aggressor country and in the Republic of Cyprus. He is accused of violations of export control, smuggling, fraud and "money laundering". According to the investigation, he participated in the procurement of US electronics. "Petrov was arrested on August 26 in the Republic of Cyprus on request," the press service informed. According to the investigation, Petrov came into conspiracy to deliver US technologies to Russian invaders during a full -scale invasion of Ukraine.

These illegally removed components were later built into the enemy rockets and UAVs. The Justice Department explained that smuggling was carried out through the fartworm companies from American distributors and intermediary countries. The purpose of confusing actions was to hide the final destination of supply - Russia. Petrov is an employee of the Russian supplier of electronic components of LLC "Electrocom of MPC".

Through manufacturers, the company supplies weapons and equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Two "assistants" of the accused - his colleagues from the Russian Federation. The three of them managed the network of illegal purchases in the territory of the aggressor country and abroad.

"Technology that Petrov and conspiracy participants have purchased during the conspiracy, has significant military use and includes different types of electronic components found in Russian military equipment on the battlefield in Ukraine, for example, in Russian managed missiles, drones, radio electronic fights and communication, " - reported in the US Department of Justice.

As militiamen found out, Petrov purchased microelectronics because of the Cyprus Cyprus firm Astrafteras Technokosmos Ltd, which he managed himself. "The microelectronics, which Petrov purchased as part of the conspiracy, includes, among other things, microcontrollers and integral schemes that are on the trade and control list of the Ministry of Commerce and cannot be legally exported or re-exported to Russia without a license by the Ministry of Commerce," the press service emphasized.

The final destination of smuggling was Electrocom in St. Petersburg. During the full -scale war in Ukraine, the conspiracy participants managed to send components for more than $ 225 thousand, that is, over UAH 8. 4 million. The articles that have been charged Petrov are sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.
