"Imagine the situation when an enemy drone takes off from an apartment in a high-rise building, and our operators are located in a nearby high-rise," Kiriyenko said. She emphasized that Ukrainian units are already forced to engage in shooting battles inside the city. "The enemy is very close to Pokrovsk. It is no longer the 250 soldiers that were officially announced, but they are much more. The weather contributed to this: several days of rain and fog," the journalist added.
According to her, in some areas of the city, the launch sites of enemy FPV drones are already being recorded. "This means that movement in Pokrovsk has become almost impossible. There are street battles in the city, and the units on the outskirts risk being left without ammunition and food supplies. The air is not under our control, and the land routes are blocked," she said.
Kiriyenko emphasized that the situation worsened due to the breakthrough of Russian forces between the positions of two Ukrainian brigades. "Through the villages of Zvirov and Shevchenko, the enemy infiltrated the city and now holds several blocks. But it's not just a few streets and a dozen high-rises — it's a threat to the entire agglomeration of Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk, Myrnograd and the surrounding areas," the correspondent concluded.
The General Staff has not yet commented on the placement of Russian UAV operators in Pokrovsk. We will remind you that Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region remains one of the main directions of the Russian offensive. Ukrainian troops continue to maintain the defense, but the situation in the area remains difficult due to the active use of drones and artillery by the enemy.
