"Budapest is silent": in Hungary they stated that they did not know about the transfer of the ROC of captured soldiers of the Armed Forces

According to journalists, only the Vice Prime Minister in Church Affairs of Zholt Shemyn was releasing 11 prisoners of war. He could bring them from Russia to the Schengen area using his own powers. Viceremier of Hungary in Church Affairs, Zholt Shemyn himself agreed with the Russian Orthodox Church on the release of 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war and their delivery to Hungary. Four springs of the Hungarian service "Radio Liberty" have told about it.

According to the interlocutors, Shemiyn was not known in the MFA, or in the government or in the office of Prime Minister Victor Orban. The official used personal contacts with the ROC. "The government is seriously outraged by this action. Budapest does not want to worsen the already very bad relationships with Kiev," one of the Hungarian officials said.

According to the publication, the Patriarch of the ROC Kirill Gundyaev could not act in such a matter without the approval of the Russian government. Soldiers, according to the material, were captured near the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. All men have Hungarian names, but not all of them say they are Hungarians. As the prisoners came from Russia to Hungary, it remains unclear. Radio Liberty interlocutors suggest that Shemyn has carried them through the Schengen area due to their own authority.

Where they are now - it is unknown. "After all it became clear that the Hungarian government can manipulate Russia at the level of Viceremier, Budapest chose the strategy of silence, hoping that everyone would soon forget about it," - summed up one of the interlocutors. We will remind that about the transfer of Hungary 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war from Transcarpathia became known on June 9. Shemien said that it was the "human duty of the ROC" for Hungary.
