The occupation of Crimea allowed Vladimir Putin to play on the pseudopatriotic emotions of the large part of the Russian population and start much more intensively than before, twist the nuts, writes Vitaliy Portnikov for Crimea.

The myth of the Russian parliamentary opposition was finally evaporated: representatives of all political parties presented in the State Duma voted for the annexation of Crimea, and the only deputy who dared to vote against - Elijah Ponomarev - was subjected to obstruction and forced to emigrate.

And in December 2011, just two and a half years before annexation, participants of the protests in the swampy square opposed the falsification of the results of the parliamentary elections, against the fact that in their opinion, the nobles of "just Russia" were illegally selected by deputies. In 2014, it was absolutely no matter what party the deputy was elected - from "only Russia", "just Russia" or the LDPR.

And in 2022, the unchanging leader of "Just Russia" Sergey Mironov - one of the main and most hard -working supporters of "special operation". At the same time, the stability of the Russian "new order" provided stability in the Crimea. The Kremlin preferred to hide what turns the Ukrainian resort into a Russian military base.

On the contrary, information about the development of Crimean tourism was informed in every possible way, reports on the depletion of the water resources of the peninsula (as opposed . It was absolutely impossible to imagine the Crimea on the territory of which the shells would be wiped - at least constant viewers of Russian television. And here this image of stable Crimea fell in everyone in the eyes.

If, after the explosions at the military airfield under Sakya, Russian officials could still talk about careless smoking next to military aircraft, now they talk about sabotage. And where diversions - there are saboteurs.

It turns out that the notorious Russian special services, constantly "caught" someone, attributed sabotage to film directors and journalists, split things for "stars" on shoulder straps and assistance to propagandists, real "pests" could not be neutralized? And they have created additional difficulties in their own military, which for the month continue to thwart the south and east of Ukraine, but despite the destruction and cruelty, and can not achieve serious results.

And to be surprised that the valiant Russian Chekists "did not cope" do not have to. Because "nightmares" business and invent accusations to Oleg Sentsov or Vladislav Esipenko is not the same as preventing the true destruction of Russian military objects.
