Russia renames its tankers to bypass the sanctions - Bloomberg

According to the Clarkson Research Services Ltd. Global Swiller Broker, Sovcomflot remains a significant operator of maritime transport market, which has a large number of Afraax tankers, capable of transporting about 700,000 barrels of oil. The Russian State Oil Tanker Company "Sovcomflot" brought out some of its ships to Russian flags and renamed them. Bloomberg writes about it.

According to the agency, in this way Russia continues to create its shadow fleet, although some actions of the Russians have called the Bloomberg experts even very bold. Thus, PJSC "Sovcomflot" renamed part of the tankers in honor of the cities of the Russian Federation after the sanctions implemented by the United States. In addition, as it became known, at least four tankers now go not under Gabonic flags, but under Russian.

All this, despite the flashy evidence of the connection of these vessels with the aggressor country, is an attempt to bypass the Russian company. According to the agency's experts, in this way Sovcomflot is trying to distance themselves from sanctions, although unique and unchanged numbers registered in the International Maritime Organization, they still allow to identify the vessels.

We will remind that the company "Sovcomflot" came under the anti -Russian sanctions of the United States of the second year of the war in February. Also, 14 tankers belonging to this Russian company are on the US Ministry of Finance's sanction list. The total number of sub -vessels of this company is 21 units. At the same time, the Russian authorities relied largely on the tanker fleet of this company to ensure the supply of Russian oil.

According to one of the world's largest Clarkson Research Services Ltd. , Sovcomflot remains a significant operator of this market, having a large number of Afraax tankers, capable of transporting about 700,000 barrels of oil. We will remind, Focus wrote that on January 10, the Bloomberg agency reported that the UAE had banned the movement of vessels under the flag of the camera through the shadow fleet of Russia and its oil.
