The undermining of the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline: the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was accused of the Armed Forces, although they dropped the CB

To spread: the day on October 9 was blown up by the Amiacow "Togliatti-Odesa" in the area of 2. 5 km east of the settlement of Rusyn Yar Yar Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation accused the Ukrainian military in the incident, which is stated in the official report of the department on social networks.

According to the information published, the Armed Forces units allegedly were replaced by a branch of the ammonia pipeline during the retreat at about 13:05 (12:05 Kyiv time). "The said pipeline was undermined, which led to the release of ammonia residues due to its damaged area. There are no victims among Russian servicemen," - assured the Russian MoD. In the General Staff of the Armed Forces, this information was not commented.

The report only reports that in the Konstantinovsky direction the enemy tried ten times to defend the Armed Forces in the areas of White Mountain, Shcherbinovka, Rusyna Yar, Poltava and towards Pleshchiyivka. But journalist Denis Kazansky writes that undermining is a matter of the hands of the Russian invaders who dropped the cabin on the ammonia. He published footage with the release of ammonia, comparing them with the gas attacks of the First World War.

According to him, the smell of ammonia is felt today even in Druzhkivka, Slavic and Kramatorsk. "The propaganda of the Russian Federation is clear now that Ukraine has replaced everything and blew everything. Well, the usual business . . . " - he states. Inhabitants of Druzhkivka began to write about the sharp smell of ammonia in the air after the first hour of the day.

People are warned that after the blasting, a poisonous cloud has been formed that threatens people and animals and can cause eye, skin and respiratory tract burns. At the time of writing the material in Donetsk ova, the situation with the ammonia pipeline was not yet commented.

The Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline is a main pipe for transporting liquid ammonia from Russia through the territory of Ukraine to the Odessa Port Plant, where the substance was overloaded into sea ships for further export. The decision on construction was made in 1975, the first stage was put into operation in 1979, and completely completed the route in 1981. The total length of the pipeline is about 2. 4 thousand kilometers. The projected capacity of the ammonia pipeline reaches 2.

5 million tonnes of ammonia per year, which makes it the largest similar system in the world. One of the most complex sections of the route is the transition through the Dnieper more than 700 meters long. After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, the chemical enterprise "Tomittytiazot" stopped the transit of ammonia through the pipeline, and since then it is not used for its intended purpose.
