Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to influence the negotiation delegation of the Russian Federation, so that it may be more effective in conversations between specific American officials elected to form a composition of the US negotiation delegation. In this way, Russian president seeks to gain maximum benefit from the United States. This conclusion was reached by analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War in its summary for February 19.
"Vladimir Putin tries to optimize the Russian delegation in the negotiations so that it is most effective with the specific persons whom the United States is chosen for their delegation in the negotiations," the message reads. The Institute's analysts say that earlier the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin would appoint a negotiator with the United States only after appointing their negotiator in America.
Probably, Vladimir Putin, first monitors whom the negotiations are sent to the United States, and then assesses the situation and appoints a messenger on their part - the one who can most effectively conduct a dialogue and influence the White House regarding concessions for Russia.
"The Kremlin seems to be trying to push the United States to accept economic and diplomatic conditions that are not related to the war in Ukraine, perhaps in exchange for concessions of Ukraine and the West, which are related to the war," analysts say. The sources of the institute reported that during the negotiations in Saudi Arabia, the Russian side insisted that both countries would fully restore their diplomatic missions.
