At the Stockholm summit discussed the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, defensive support and preparation for the Peace Summit - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Participants of the Third Summit of Ukraine - Northern Europe in Stockholm discussed defense cooperation, military support, strengthening of air defense, Euro -Atlantic integration of our country and preparing for peace. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a meeting with media representatives. The head of state began with the news that today Ukraine managed to return 75 people - military and civilians - from Russian captivity.

The President stressed that Russia now has the opportunity to expand the war and strengthen terror against Ukrainian cities and villages. The Russian Federation prepares appropriate groups near our borders. “We need to do everything to destroy Russian battle planes just as we are already destroying Russian warships in the Black Sea. We need Petriot air defense system, and today we talked about how to provide it, ”the head of state said.

Volodymyr Zelensky also noted that Ukraine has signed five security agreements with the countries of North Europe. “Agreements record the volume of military support: this year alone, all five agreements and only military support is now for 6 billion euros - this is significant. They also recorded our broad defense interaction, and it is very important - these are joint production of weapons and equipment, ”the President emphasized.

The summit also discussed the importance of starting Ukraine's accession to the European Union in June, the preparation of NATO summit in Washington and the Global Peace Summit. Almost a hundred states and international organizations have confirmed participation in it. At the same time, Russia blackmails individual leaders and tries to block the presence of countries at a summit in Switzerland.

"Today we have discussed how we can strengthen this peacekeeping work together - the Summit of Peace, and I thank for your help, for their support," the President stressed. Sweden Prime Minister ULF Kristerson also noted that recently announced assistance from his country is focused on aircraft. It is, in particular, about two radar planes, as well as artillery shells and armored vehicles.
