Ammonia transit from Russia can afford: Ukraine has named the conditions - the media

Moscow seeks to restore the supply of ammonia with a pipeline from a togliatti to the port "Southern" near Odessa. Kiev wants to expand the list of goods and geography of ports under the "Grain Agreement", journalists learned. Ukraine can allow Russian ammonia transit through its territory, but will require the expansion of the "grain agreement". This was reported on May 19 by Reuters with reference to a source in government.

Russia is a large exporter of ammonia and seeks to restore it to a pipeline from a togliatti to the Black Sea port "Southern" near Odessa. This port is designed to pump up to 2. 5 million tons of ammonia per year, the agency said. Prior to the start of a full -scale war in Ukraine, the Russian Federation exported 4. 4 million tons of ammonia per year - 20% of world maritime transportation. The UN supported the restoration of ammonia supply to help global food safety, journalists said.

Kiev has repeatedly stated the desire to expand the list of goods and geography of ports under the "Grain Agreement". Currently, three major Black Sea ports have been included in the agreement, Reuters said in the government. The text of the agreement, which was agreed on May 17, does not mention the Togliatti-Odesa pipeline. This will require an additional agreement, the interlocutor added.

"We say so - if the agreement includes an ammonia pipeline, Ukraine has to get additional things that will serve our national interests," the source said. What products and ports want to include Ukraine in the agreement have not been specified in the government. Ukrainian officials have previously talked about the possibility of export through the Black Sea, the agency concluded.
