Burn a swarm of UAV in seconds: Marines received microwave weapons (video)

To spread: Epirus has announced the supply of the first expeditionary system of directional energy against swarms of drones (Exdecs) to the US Navy Navy Center in Dalgren to support the US Marine Corps. The Epirus Presrection states that the Leonidas Expeditionary platform system was developed within a contract concluded by the US Navy Navy. It is reported that the system will support the experimental missions of the US Marine Corps.

At the beginning of the year, the Exdecs prototype was sent to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, where it passed government tests. Epirus CEO Andy Loweri said Exdecs would give marine infantrymen an important advantage because they will be able to destroy the electronics of several drones at the same time using one system.

"This delivery is the most important step on the path to the introduction of necinotic solutions to combat" swarm ", which increase the mobility, survivability and deadly forces of our Marines forces," Lower said. According to Forbes, Exdecs can destroy both individual drones and large switches.

These weapons have some resemblance to laser installations, but the laser focuses its energy at a small point, and microwave weapons can emit a wide field of energy that disables all electronics inside the drones. The main advantage of Exdecs is the manufacturer's efficiency. One shot costs just five cents. Thanks to compact solid state electronics, the Exdecs system was compact. This is important because marines need a lightweight installation that can be towed by standard vehicles.
