In Kherson detained a local traveler who worked on the occupiers - DBR

During the occupation, the man worked on the enemy in a captured colony, and later got to the Armed Forces: he favored imprisonment for 15 years. The DBR employees, together with the SBU representatives, managed to detain a resident of Kherson, who during the occupation of the city went to cooperate with the hostile administration. The man worked in the local colony occupied by the Russians, and after the de -occupation he remained in Ukraine.

The detention took place on January 17, reports the DBR. The Kherson resident began working with the occupation troops a few months after the start of a full -scale invasion, in June 2022. The man was in a local colony, where the Russians were instructed to work as a customer. According to the DBR, the Kherson browse cooperated with the occupation administration before the liberation of the city in November 2022. He received his salary in rubles and subordinated to the Russian leadership.

When the Armed Forces was released by Kherson, the man decided not to leave the city and remained in the territory controlled by Ukraine. At first, Kherson was hiding, fearing that the SBU would search for him for cooperation with the enemy. Subsequently, the man stopped hiding and even joined the Armed Forces. The Kherson was detained before he started a full service, which prevented the man's probable attempts to report to the Russians classified information about Ukrainian troops.

"He has been informed of suspicion of collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code)," the DBR said. According to the sanctions of this article, the Kherson turnover may be expected in the form of imprisonment for a period of 12 to 15 years. The punitive sanctions of the article also provide for deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of 10 to 15 years with a possible confiscation of property - as the court decides.

Currently, the court has chosen a measure of restraint for Kherson. The man is kept in custody without the possibility of bail. It should be noted that collaborators who are in the territory controlled by Ukraine have the opportunity to go to the Russian Federation on exchange conditions.

This is possible through the implementation of the program "I want to my" - the project of the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war, which is implemented with the support of GUR and SBU. All of the collaborators presented in the program were previously convicted of cooperation or assistance to the occupying troops. The project started in the summer of 2024, and a few months later shared its first results.
