An engineer from Ukraine helps Russians develop navigation for "Iskander" and "Calibers" (photo)

To spread: The Security Service of Ukraine has reported suspicion of Oleg Borsuk, a former Ukrainian engineer, who after his escape to Russia became a key developer of navigation systems for rocket weapons of the Russian Federation. The 61-year-old Borsuk previously headed the laboratory at one of the defensive enterprises of Cherkasy region.

In 2009, he left the post and moved to Moscow, where he became the Deputy Director General of the Design Bureau "Vaosa"-one of the main players of the Russian military-industrial complex, the SBU press service reports. According to the investigation, nearly 3,200 satellite navigation blocks for rockets, in particular for Iskander complexes, were produced in 2023.

Also, the navigation systems it upgrades are used in rockets X-101, X-59 and "caliber", which Russia regularly fires Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. The SBU charges the Bossukou State treason in the conditions of martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It is currently in the territory of the Russian Federation, but Ukrainian law enforcement officers are taking a set of measures to bring it to justice.

The investigation is conducted by the SBU of Cherkasy region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office. According to the prosecutor General's office, the suspect has been wanted. The issue of obtaining a permit for its detention is resolved.
