The Armed Forces of the Armed Forces came the Italian APC Puma: features of armored vehicles - media

Western observers noted that no official official has confirmed the supply of armored vehicles. However, perhaps the transfer of the APC was part of one of the secret aid packages of the Italian government defense assistance. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the deployment of Italian armored personnel carriers (APC) by Puma as part of its Armed Forces. The technique has undergone a codification procedure, which allows them to be purchased at the expense of the state budget.

This was reported on July 1 by Army Recognition. The authors of the publication immediately clarified that no country has made a formal statement that the Puma wheeled armored personnel carriers were in the help package. "It is expected that the supply of Puma to Ukraine was part of one of the classified defense assistance packages from the Italian government," the observers write.

The Puma 6x6 armored personnel carrier was developed by the Italian Iveco-Too Melara consortium and is designed to ensure optimal protection and mobility on the battlefield. It is equipped with a machine gun of 7. 62 mm or 12. 7 mm, which provides effective fire support. There are many versions of Puma APC, including control machines, reconnaissance machines, anti-tank and anti-aircraft systems, 81mm mortars, sanitary APTs and observation machines.

Puma 6x6 is mostly used by Italian armed forces and has a driver's crew and six soldiers. Equipped with air conditioning and fire extinguishing system, it provides comfort and safety of the crew. The armor protects against fire arms and fragments, and the weight of the machine is 5700 kg, which provides high maneuverability. The APC is equipped with a four -cylinder diesel engine Iveco with a capacity of 180 hp. and an automatic transmission.

Thanks to this, the machine can develop a maximum speed of 105 km/h and has a stroke of 800 km, which allows to overcome long distances without frequent refueling. These characteristics make the Puma 6x6 a valuable asset for intelligence, transportation of troops and the fulfillment of auxiliary missions on the battlefield, experts summed up. Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian manufacturer of NGO "Practice" develops a deeply modified version of the wheel BTR "Otaman".
