Battles in Kupyansk: the observer told where the Russians will be able to advance in case of capture of the city

He notes that the Russian Armed Forces will be able to capture Vovchansk, moving from the flank, in the event of the capture of Kupyansk. "If Kupyansk is not saved, the enemy will have the opportunity to completely capture Vovchansk (moving from the flank) and advance to the Izyum-Balaklia line directly through our rear," Miroshnikov believes. At the same time, the expert considers it a positive point that the public's attention is again drawn to Kupyansk.

However, he believes that attention is returned to something only when "obvious problems" arise. Currently, in Kupyansk, as Miroshnikov noted, the zone of control of the Russian army has not increased over the past few days. "What got into the media space is the result of previous problems and advances of the enemy," the observer noted. At the same time, he expressed hope that Kupyansk will be saved, as there is still a chance for this.

Military groups of the Russian Armed Forces are fixed almost on the entire right bank of Kupyansk, Bohdan Miroshnikov reported on October 16. He also noted that the city is currently not even half occupied. However, the columnist warned that the Russians in Kupyansk are following tactics that could lead to control.

Former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Seleznyov, said on the air of the "Espresso" TV channel on October 14 that the situation in Kupyansk is deteriorating. He also warned that the Russian Armed Forces could gain an advantage at the front in the event of the capture of Kupyansk, in particular, to establish logistics for another offensive nearby.
