The White House is afraid that a personal meeting between Putin and Trump will allow the Russian leader to influence the US position without the participation of Ukraine, and Trump will become the object of manipulation. The US President added that it will be clear in the coming weeks whether Putin is really interested in the end of the war.
At the same time, he acknowledged that tripartite negotiations with Zelensky could be a serious breakthrough on the way to peace. Since the beginning of a full -scale invasion in 2022, no world leader has been able to gather presidents of Ukraine and Russia at one table. According to Focus, the meeting of Putin and Trump will take place in the coming days: the Kremlin confirmed the preparation that Trump began to hurry his assistants so that they immediately start planning his meeting with Putin.
