"One blow not to hit": The Armed Forces tank told about fierce battles with the participation of Leopard 2

There were situations when the crews of Ukrainian tanks burned all the fuel and fired the entire ammunition. And in one of the episodes "Leopard", three shots destroyed two Russian tanks. The 33rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces, equipped with LOOPARD 2A4 tanks, played a key role in the summer offensive operation in 2023 in the Zaporozhye direction.

According to Ukrainian tanker Andrew, this unit has repeatedly participated in fierce and bloody battles, and the possibilities of "Leopard", which has a lot of enemies on the battlefield, repeatedly saved the lives of Ukrainian crews. This is stated in Defense24. The tank battalion of the brigade became the first and probably the only one in the Armed Forces that uses Leopard 2, which made it a unique unit of the Ukrainian army.

In June 2023, the Leopard 2A4 battalion was thrown on the Zaporizhzhya direction, and its main task was to break the mine fields in the direction of small Tokmachka, robot and willow. Despite the power of technology, the promotion slowed down dense mine fields, intense artillery fire, PTRC strikes and attacks of Russian drones FPV.

Sergeant Andrew, one of the battalion tankers, said that in the battles under the robots of the Leopard 2A4 crew, dozens of shells were spent a night and burning almost all the fuel in the tanks. This emphasized the intensity of battles and the need for constant supply. The Ukrainian fighter noted the good survival of the tank, where the crew is isolated from the ammunition, unlike Soviet cars.

And the high maneuverability of the German tank does not interfere with its fire power - stabilization of the gun made it possible to accurately shoot on the enemy, without losing mobility on the battlefield. "My crew of three shots destroyed two Russian tanks. At first they hit, stopped the tank, 5-7 seconds-and the second shot, his tower was tore, and in 15 seconds the second tank went. We will destroy it from the first shot!" - says Andrew. Unfortunately, there was no loss.

The first battalion tank was destroyed on June 8 in the Novoborovka area. With increasing losses, the battalion's tactics have changed. The crews began to make night firing ambushes and hidden maneuvers. This tactic has minimized losses and maintain the combat capability of the unit. The use of terrain, such as forestry, and temporary shelters, as well as the establishment of dynamic contact "contact-1" on Leopard 2A4 helped to resist constant threats.

The battalion suffered the largest loss in the fall of 2023. On October 24, three tanks were shot down, two of which were damaged by FPV-auctions and thrown on the battlefield, another car was shot down by an opponent on October 25. Nevertheless, damaged tanks often managed to evacuate and send for repair. Andrew himself was wounded in a tank, a podtur of the Kornet complex, but none of the crew died. Stunned and injured by the crew still left the car.

Meanwhile, the difficulty of evacuation arose because of the threat of drone attacks and the capture of enemy's equipment. Thus, in the winter of 2024, already in the Donetsk direction, in the Kurakhov area, crews encountered similar problems. However, even badly damaged tanks, as a rule, were subject to recovery. In the winter and spring of 2024, the Leopard 2A4 battalion operated on the approaches to Kurakhov and in the Victory area.

Tanks were used as mobile anti -tank means, destroying enemy equipment on the move. However, this exposed them to serious risks, especially from Russian drones and ammunition "lancet". "As you know, it is very difficult to destroy the" leopard ". As a result, a key element of tactics was coordination with artillery and drones, as well as high speed maneuvers to avoid hitting.

In November 2024, the Leopard 2A4 was spotted with multi -inspect camouflage, which also indicates an effort to adapt the equipment to the fighting conditions. The authors of the material emphasized that Leopard 2A4 tanks demonstrated the high survival of crews thanks to isolated ammunition and reliable armor protection. Unlike Russian tanks, Leopard 2 is deprived of the risk of detonation with the "tower break".

However, the high cost of tanks and the complexity of their repair make them vulnerable in the conditions of prolonged fighting. Earlier it was reported that the crew of the Ukrainian LOOPARD 2A4 tank from the 33rd OMB, interacting with artillery, successfully repelled the storm of Russian armored vehicles and infantry under Kurakhov Donetsk region. As a result of the fighting, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 40 Russian soldiers, two tanks, one APC and another enemy's combat equipment.
