Zelensky does not hope to end the war in Ukraine in 2024 - Fitzo

The Slovak Prime Minister stated that he had asked Ukraine's management about plans for the future. He was allegedly answered that there were no other plans in addition to the war. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that there will be no development in the war until 2025. This was stated during a press conference in Berlin on January 24 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo. He noted that Slovakia does not believe in the completion of "conflict in Ukraine" by military means.

The Slovak official said that he asked the officials who had their plans. "There was one answer: there are no other plans," Fitzo reported. He stressed that it supports any peaceful initiative that exists. "Today I even supported the initiative of President Zelensky, although, of course, you can doubt the implementation of this plan," the Prime Minister said. Fitzo said that Zelensky also asked how he saw the development of war in Ukraine.

"He said he was frozen and is likely to be significant progress this year, in 2024. They are preparing for 2025," the Slovak Prime Minister reported. According to him, then the question arises what changes to expect next year if the conflict is frozen. "The only change will be that we will have much more victims and many more deaths. This is my belief, and I will express my position in public," Slovak politician said. He stressed that the war is not a way out.

At the same time, the Prime Minister confirmed that Slovakia wants to help Ukraine. "But I'm a sovereign Slovak politician, and my duty is not to tell what politicians tell in big countries just because they tell it," Fitzo added. Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo hinted that Ukraine should give temporarily occupied territories of Russia. He also said that Kiev was allegedly influenced by the United States. In addition, Fitzo stated that Slovakia did not support Ukraine's path to NATO.
