The details of the situation with Russian cars are described on the portal Deutsche Welle, the material tells the stories of several Russians who have lost cars by crossing the EU border. For example, Ivan Koval moved to Germany in winter and decided to transport the car a few months later. At customs, the car was confiscated. At the same time, the customs officers confirmed that he made all the documents correctly.
However, they are forced to act in accordance with the sanctions imposed on Russia by invading Ukraine. Another complainant is Sergei Podvisky. The husband said that his wife and children were planted in the middle of the road, and the car with Russian numbers was taken away by the evacuator. In total, such cases have calculated about 10 pcs. The German customs officers explained to the Russians on which the cars were arrested.
The basis of arrest is the order of the EU of July 31, 2014 and sanctions imposed in 2022. According to a decision, the EU is prohibited from the import of cars - both high -speed, and pickups, and those in which less than 10 people are placed. It does not matter what purpose they are imported - either for their own use or for sale, German officials claim. The lawyers hired by the Russians try to release the car from arrest.
At the same time, they appeal to the fact that the Germans did not correctly translate the English term. In particular, the English text has the word "export", and in German translation - import, that is, "einfuhr". Currently, the publication has information that the German authorities have so far returned the car only to a Russian who moved to Germany for a permanent residence. Other citizens of the Russian Federation are still expecting whether they will be able to slip out of EU sanctions.
We remind that European officials are working on new ones - the eleventh - a package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. One of the points planned to make is to destroy the opportunities for their bypass. A group of experts analyzed new sanctions and evaluated whether they would affect the economy of Russia. According to economist Vitaliy Shapran, the most powerful blow is an oil embargo, and Ivan all proposes to impose restrictions on software for computers and gadgets.
