Cassette warhead on the X-32 missile: what to prepare for Ukrainians-Defense Express

Military observers say that installing a cassette combat unit on a rocket can be carried out to compensate for possible problems with accuracy of hitting to cover a wider sector of the lesion. On Thursday, January 4, the Center for National Resistance (CNS) warned the possible equipment of the winged missiles X-32 with cassette ammunition, referring to the fragment of the working documentation of the ICB "Raduga", obtained from internal sources.

According to this document, work on such improvement X-32 began no later than October 2023. Defense Express reviewers have told you about the danger of such missiles. Although the use of X-32 with cassette equipment has not yet been recorded, military reviewers pay attention to several key points. Thus, the released documentation refers to the index "Product 132", which obviously denotes the X-32 missile itself and has not previously been open.

In addition, the index "product 9A-22 in cassette" is mentioned. The 9A-22 index belongs to the combat part of the X-22 rocket. This can indicate the work of the Russian military-industrial complex over a unified cassette combat unit, which can be used for both X-32 and for its predecessor X-22. Views emphasize that both missiles-X-22 and X-32-pose a danger as supersonic winged missiles, which can only counteract Western anti-aircraft missile complexes of Patriot and Samp/T.

According to experts, the possibility of installing a cassette combat unit on the X-32 can be conducted to compensate for possible problems with the accuracy of this rocket: regardless of its actual hit, cassette equipment can cover large goals, such as logistical objects. The document indicates the need to produce 14 copies of X-32 with a cassette combat part for testing. How these tests will be conducted and how high the risk of their possible conduct near cities remains an open question.

"But the fact is that without the appropriate" testing "Russian terrorists will not be able to plan more large-scale production and use of X-32 in the cassette version," the observers summarize. We will remind, the British edition of The Telegraph wrote that the aerobalist missiles "dagger" X-47, which are used by the Russian Armed Forces for attacks on Ukrainian cities, were a less effective means of damage than it is raised by Russian propaganda.
