Biden allowed Ukraine to strike ATACMS in the Russian Federation - NYT

According to sources of the publication, long -range missiles will first be applied in the Kursk region. Reuters notes that Ukraine plans to hit ATCMS in the coming days. The White House refused to comment. In the President's office, these statements have not been reacted yet. US President Joe Biden for the first time allowed Ukraine to use US ATACMS US Table Missiles to blows around Russia. Russian and North Korean troops can become primary purposes to protect Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.

This was reported with reference to American officials by The New York Times. At the same time, the White House, according to Reuters, refused to comment on Ukraine's permission to use ATACMS on the Russian Federation. Baiden's decision is a serious change in the US policy, which takes place two months before joining the newly elected President Donald Trump, who promised to limit Ukraine's further support. This choice of the current American leader divided his advisers.

The permission to use ATACMS was a reaction to the decision of Russia to attract North Korean troops to an offensive in Ukrainian positions, the newspaper writes. At the same time, NYT sources believe that this will not lead to significant changes in the fighting and such a step in the United States has taken to signal to the DPRK to the DPRK. In August, the Armed Forces had an attack on the Kursk region, seizing part of the Russian territory.

However, the situation on the front was complicated by simultaneous attacks of Russians in different regions, in particular in Kharkiv region. The United States decided to strengthen Ukrainian defense, but long avoided the use of missiles for strikes in Russia due to the fears of the Kremlin's reaction. Some American officials have argued that such actions may provoke Vladimir Putin to use force in response to the United States and their coalition partners.

Others assured that these fears are exaggerated. Journalists say that Ukraine will be able to use ATACMS missiles for the key parts of the enemy's military equipment, logistics units, ammunition depots and supply lines in the rear of Russia. In turn, Reuters, citing sources, writes that Ukraine plans to hit ATACMS in Russia in the coming days. The publication writes that the first strikes are likely to be made with a rockets with a radius of up to 306 km.
