Bulgaria is ready to let Putin's plane to Budapest pass

Share: Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev said that if a meeting between Trump and Putin is a condition for a ceasefire in Ukraine, then "it is most logical that such a meeting should be organized by all possible means. " When asked if this means that Bulgaria will provide an air corridor for the plane with Putin, the head of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry answered: "And how is it proposed to hold a meeting if one of the participants cannot come to it.

" Georg Georgiev stated this in a commentary of the BNR at the meeting of the International Affairs Council in Luxembourg. Georgiev said that in order to achieve peace in Ukraine, "if a meeting is a condition for this, it is most logical that such a meeting should be organized in all possible ways.

" US President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time in almost two months on October 16, after which he announced that they planned to meet in Budapest - which would be Putin's first appearance in the capital of an EU member state since the full-scale war.

The chief diplomat of the EU, Kaya Callas, has already called the unpleasant situation when Putin, against whom the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant, can meet with Trump on the territory of the European Union. Meanwhile, in Polish diplomatic circles, it is considered unlikely that the head of the Kremlin, Putin, will decide to fly to a meeting with the US president in Budapest over the territory of Poland.
