The brown bear is included in the Red Book of Ukraine. Researchers recorded its traces for several months. Despite the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine from the Chernobyl radiation-ecological biosphere reserve, the brown bears did not go. This was reported by the press service of the reserve on Facebook. Photo pastes recorded the presence of a brown bear in the Chernobyl Reserve.

This species was already recorded in 2020 and 2022, which means that despite the troubles of a full -scale war, the bears did not leave the territory. "The information obtained indicates that, despite the troubles of wartime, the largest predator of Europe did not leave the Chernobyl reserve, but feels here, as if at home," - wrote in the post. Also, nature conservation staff regularly record the traces of a brown bear during patrolling of the territory.

However, now there is a confirmation in the form of photos. It depicts, according to experts, an adult male. It is noted that the reserve for a year and a half, as it began to restore its activities after the occupation of Russian troops. To do this, it was necessary to re -rebuild the infrastructure for protection and research. Photo paste testimony is also a direct confirmation that the reserve retains natural complexes and especially rare species of animals.

The brown bear is included in the Red Book of Ukraine, the Red List of IUCS and CTIES. The predator is at risk of disappearance through human activity. Poaching, high mortality rate among births at birth also had a negative impact on the population.
