Stocks ran out: North Korea did not deliver a single projectile to Russia in September, GUR

Share: The number of artillery shells that North Korea has supplied to Russia this year has more than halved compared to the same period last year. The reason for this reduction was the fact that North Korea's stockpiles of shells were exhausted, said Vadym Skibytskyi, deputy head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in an interview with Reuters.

According to him, the total amount of ammunition that North Korea has transferred to the Russians since 2023 is 6. 5 million artillery shells. Skibytsky noted that in September 2025, no deliveries of shells from North Korea were recorded, although they partially resumed in October. However, about half of the missiles supplied by Pyongyang were so old that they had to be sent to Russian factories for modernization.

The deputy chief of the GUR also said that North Korea has begun mass production of small FPV drones as well as larger medium-range drones for battlefield attacks on its territory, but did not specify the scale of production. "They are studying, they are studying their experience (in this war) in order to expand production on their territory," Skibytskyi explained. It will be recalled that on November 4, it became known that Kim Jong-un sent 5,000 "construction soldiers" to Russia.
