The GPS signal: a plane with the head of the Ministry of Defense of Spain attacked near Kaliningrad - the media

To spread: The military aircraft of Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robes was experienced by GPS-Ataka near Kaliningrad when he was flying to NATO base in Lithuania. Attempts to muffle navigation signals in the airspace near Kaliningrad are quite common after the last escalation of tension in the region. This was reported by the Spanish edition of El Mundo. The Airbus A330 A330 aircraft collided with one of these incidents. The 20minutos portal adds that Robles has chosen a US Air Force aircraft.

A similar event happened two weeks ago with the aircraft of the Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Lien during her trip to Bulgaria. Military sources El Pais reported that the A-330 was attempted to flush during a flight at an altitude of 12 kilometers, about 60 kilometers from the Russian region. "The GPS system is reliable, so the aircraft did not lose their orientation in space for a second," the interlocutors said.

There was an attempt to "disorient the GPS system", but the attack did not touch the system. The ministerial aircraft uses signals of military satellites that are less vulnerable to this kind of obstacles. One of the commanders on board diminished the value of the incident. According to him, such obstacles often occur when crossing the airspace over Kaliningrad for both military and civilian flights.

Together with the Minister on board the aircraft were journalists and members of the families of the military tactical airplane of the Tactical Air Force Base "Vilkas". The program of Robles's visit to Lithuania included a meeting with Lithuanian colleague Radhlets Shakalen as part of NATO's joint actions to strengthen the containment of the Russian threats on the eastern flank.

The publication emphasizes that there is a Spanish contingent in Lithuania - eight Eurofighter fighters and 150 NATO missions to patrol the Baltic Air Force. The Spanish detachment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francesko Holgado del Agila has instructed to intercept and identify planes flying contrary to the international flight rules and approaching NATO airspace. We will remind, Pentagon wants to stop military assistance of a number of countries of the Baltic region.
