Solving the issue of Transnistria in the military way: Sandu commented on the "proposal" of Ukraine

According to the head of Moldova, Ukraine respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, and Chisinau stands for a peaceful solution to the issue with the occupied part of the country. Ukraine has never proposed Moldova to solve the problem of Transnistria in the military. The President of the Republic of Moldova Maya Sandu said in an interview with Russian journalist Yuri Dudy, published on Tuesday, May 7.

The head of state noted that only separate statements in the media were heard, but Kyiv officials did not go to the leadership of Moldova with such a proposal. "There have never been any official statements. We only read what some people said in the media. Officially, with all the responsibility, I never had such a proposal. And unofficially such proposals were received," Sandu said. The President emphasized that Moldova does not consider options for solving the Transnistrian issue in the military.

"We have always said that for us the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict is possible only peacefully. The military way we will not agree on it, only peaceful, for us a very important peace," Sandu said. Sanda also responded to the rumors of a possible attempt to capture the composition of Russian ammunition in the village of Kovbasna, which is located in the territory of the controlled Russian Federation of the so -called "Transnistrian Moldavian Republic" (PMR).

She stated that there was no reason to believe in such scenarios. "There are no such conversations that Ukraine gets access (to the staff. At the same time, Sandu noted that on the first day of the presidential mandate, she appealed to Russia to destroy this composition, but the parties did not reach a specific agreement. The head of state notes that the constitutional power of Moldova has no access to this composition and does not know exactly what is there.

We will remind, on February 28 in Transnistria there was a congress of deputies of all levels. The authorities of the unrecognized republic stated that Moldova allegedly causes a "catastrophic" blow to Tiraspol's economy. Local deputies appealed to the Council of the Federation and the State Duma of Russia to implement measures to protect the so -called "PMR" in the conditions of "increased pressure of Moldova".
