The winged X-101 rocket is one of the most modern in the arsenal of the Russian Federation and is crucial for attacks in Ukraine. Russia has not only managed to maintain missiles after Western sanctions, but also to keep access to components, including the US. The head of the sanctions research at the KSE Institute of KSE Olena Belousova explained that Western technologies make it possible to create more advanced missiles that can overcome Ukrainian air defense.
The analysis of the fragments of the rocket, which was beaten in Ukraine in January, showed 16 electronic devices of Western production. Mostly the American components of Texas Instruments, Analog Device and Intel. Two more components belong to the Swiss manufacturer of STMicroelectronics. Also in 2023, Russian companies imported components on the open market and imported them through China.
For the most part, the Russian Federation buys civilian products, and some of them are quite outdated, journalists say.
