The port of Ust-Luga is located at a strategically important point in the Baltic Sea. A year ago, the Security Service of Ukraine had already struck the terminal of the Russian energy company "Novatek". Unknown UAVs attacked the most deep portion of the Baltic Sea of Ust-Lug in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation. Most drones were shot over the terminal of Novatrans LLC in the port, writes the Russian Telegram-channel Astra.

Russian sources claim that windows were damaged in one of the buildings in the port. The OSINT researchers of the cyberbologously found that the impact had been hit by a complex for fractionation and transshipment of stable gas condensate. It should be noted that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the destruction at night by regular air defense means 16 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft.

Ten UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Bryansk region, three over the territory of the Smolensk region and one at a time over the territories of Belgorod, Pskov and Leningrad region later in the morning, Russian Air Defense allegedly destroyed another 10 UAVs: three above the territory of Leningrad region, one above the territory The territory of Kursk region and five above the territory of the Voronezh region.

The governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko stated that on January 4 it became a record in terms of the number of UAV destroyed, where, according to him, 4 aircraft were shot. One of the largest, after Novorossiysk, the Maritime Commercial Port of Ust-Lug in the Leningrad region plays a key role for Russia in the conditions of war against Ukraine and general geopolitical tension, explained the head of the Center for Combating Misinformation Andriy Kovalenko.

After the introduction of Western sanctions, Ust-Luga became one of the main hubs of the sale of Russian resources, the income of which exports go to the financing of war. The port is located at a strategically important point in the Baltic Sea, which enables Russia to provide a naval presence in the region, including cargo for military needs, as well as the place where the shadow fleet comes from.

The Russian Federation has lost its access to many European ports, and Ust-Luga has become a major way out to international markets, from where goods are passed, including China and India. Thanks to this port, Russia preserves the opportunity to press the Baltic countries, Poland and other countries in the region, controlling strategic maritime transportation.

"Ust-Luzky port practically became an instrument of economic and military survival of Russia in the conditions of isolation,"-emphasized Andrey Kovalenko. It should be noted that at the time of material release, representatives of the Ukrainian special services did not comment on the alleged attack on the Russian port. We will remind, in January 2024 the drones of the SBU attacked the Russian port of Ust-Luga. The terminal processed the fuel that was supplied to the occupiers.
