As part of negotiations on Ukraine: Moldova wants Russia to withdraw its troops from Transnistria

To spread: all negotiations concerning the end of the war in Ukraine should also take into account security issues in Europe, says Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin. In particular, this is directly related to the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the republic. The existing international situation can contribute to the removal of the Russian contingent from the unrecognized Transnistria. This was announced on Jurnal TV by Prime Minister Moldova Dorin.

According to him, this option is not probable in the short term, but this issue can be raised in the negotiations related to Ukraine and the new security architecture in the European Union. "There is now an international context that can lead to Russia from the left bank of the Dniester in this negotiation process.

It may not necessarily be in peace negotiation, it is difficult to imagine in the near future, but in the negotiation process, which It concerns Ukraine and the new EU security architecture, "the Prime Minister added. He noted that any negotiations concerning Ukraine should also take into account security issues in Europe, including the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the republic.

"The Republic of Moldova will insist that we put this issue on the negotiation table," the Prime Minister said. It should be noted that Russian troops, in violation of Moldova's sovereignty, have been stationed in Transnistria since 1995. Their total number, according to open sources, is about 1700 people.

The main tasks of "peacekeepers" in the so -called PMR is to ensure the preservation of weapons and ammunition, as well as the implementation of the relevant orders of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in case of changing the situation in the region. In addition, soldiers perform a symbolic function, denoting Russian military presence. We will remind, Moldova decided to unilaterally close the Russian cultural center in Chisinau, the so -called "Russian house".
