Mimicking the occupation: Russians in Kupyansk "illuminate" themselves for drones of the Armed Forces, waving tricolors

Share: Small groups of occupiers in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, wave Russian flags to simulate control over the city. Such "actions" help Ukrainian drone operators to detect enemies. On November 16, the press service of the United Forces Group reported on the attempts of the Russians in Kupyansk to simulate control over the city. It is reported that the command ordered the occupiers to wave Russian tricolors in places where their small groups are present to simulate the capture of positions.

According to the UOS, the Russians put flags in the supply packages that the drones of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation drop on Kupyansk. "At least one such "operation" has already taken place - we are waiting for a quick and somewhat truncated video at the end in all Russian media," the press service noted.

The Joint Forces Group reported that despite the statement of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the General Staff of the Russian Federation about the "surrounding" of the city, most of Kupyansk remains under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and in the northern regions groups of Russians are cut off from ground supplies. "The current action is an attempt to make a good impression with a bad game and to cover up the obvious lies of the head of the Russian regime," the UOS said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military noted that orders from Russian commanders to wave flags make small groups of Russian infantry more visible to Ukrainian drone operators. Instead, the UOS advises the occupiers to replace the flag with a white one in order to surrender and save their lives.

On November 12, the head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, said that the Russian Armed Forces had advanced deep from the border in the direction of Veliko Burlutsk in the Kharkiv region and were holding positions in the northern part of Kupyansk, however, attempts to enter the city from the other side had failed.
