Forecast 1000 wounded per day: Germany is preparing for war with the Russian Federation on the experience of Ukraine - Reuters
In this case, the Kremlin rejects any assumptions that it can prepare military aggression against the Alliance, reports Reuters. Commander of the Central Medical Service, Colonel-General Ralph Goffmann noted that the number of wounded in Russia's potential conflict will depend on the intensity of combatants, as well as on how many military units are involved in them. "If you say realistic, it is about 1,000 wounded servicemen a day," he told reporters.
According to Goffmann, Germany adapts its medical training against the background of the Russian threat, taking into account the experience of Ukraine. The Colonel General noted that the nature of hostilities in the Russo-Ukrainian war is radically different from what was in the Second World War, in particular, instead of gunshot wounds, fighters were more likely to receive explosive injuries and burns.
Hoffmann also mentioned the so -called "Kill Zone" - corridors about 10 km on both sides of the front line, which are swept by unmanned aerial vehicles and do not allow the wounded to evacuate quickly. The commander of the central medical service stressed the need to stabilize the injured soldiers directly on the front line. In addition, the evacuation of the wounded requires flexible methods, such as hospital trains and buses that use the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Goffmann added that after receiving first aid, the front wounded will be transported to German hospitals, mostly civilians. According to him, in the event of a war with the Russian Federation, the military will need about 15,000 hospital beds out of 440,000 available in the country. It is also planned to expand the medical service of the German military, which today is 15,000 people.
We will remind, the government of Germany on September 11 declared in the country the day of national alert of civil protection, during which the testing of sirens in case of disasters and hostilities took place. In an exclusive comment on the focus, Ukrainian Anna Minechva, who lives in Germany, said that such testing had been happening once a year, and this year at least 2-3 checks were conducted.
