Too complex processes: in the US want to simplify the sale of weapons abroad and in Ukraine
US Deputy Minister of Army Haib Kamarillo said that the sale of weapons abroad had increased from $ 13 billion in the 2022 financial year to $ 35 billion in the 2023 financial year. He explained almost three times the fact that the full -scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine provoked increased demand. Now more than 30 organizations help coordinate the process of supplying weapons to other countries. Kamarillo says the US Army has the best weapon that is desirable for other countries.
However, the bureaucracy has become too large. "Over the past few years, our processes have become too complicated, too burdensome. They delay the transfer of critical forces and means to our partners and allies," the US Deputy Minister of Army said. There are currently 6 proposals for weapons reform. The same processes began in the State Department. One of the priorities: improving coordination with foreign partners, improving staff education and reviewing technological safety processes.
It also creates difficulties that often foreign partners want to buy weapons that the US army does not buy for itself. The US Army also wants transparent relations with industry. Finally, Kamarillo added that in the issue of assistance to Ukraine helped to accelerate the processes of extraordinary powers of the Pentagon, which Congress gave. Recall that on October 11, the United States announced a new package of military assistance for $ 200 million.
