The President of Ukraine and the Federal Chancellor of Germany discussed steps that can strengthen Ukrainian air defense
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Mertz to discuss the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense and to agree on the next joint steps. The leaders coordinated positions before the meeting of the coalition of the willing, which will take place in London. The head of state emphasized that forward movement is needed to develop security guarantees for Ukraine.
The President talked about the consequences of targeted Russian strikes on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Ukraine is counting on Germany's leadership in providing energy support. The parties discussed the needs for equipment for the gas industry and funds for gas import. Particular attention is paid to solutions that can strengthen Ukrainian air defense. The President thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for its significant contribution to protecting the lives of Ukrainians.
