Macron, Merz, Starmer and others: EU leaders urged Trump to talk to Putin after ceasefire

They noted that only an approach that combines active diplomacy, support of Ukraine and pressure on the Russian Federation to end the war can be successful. "We agree that these vital interests include the need for reliable and reliable security guarantees that will allow Ukraine to effectively protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukraine has the right to freely choose its fate," the statement said.

European leaders emphasized that Trump's efforts are ready to support the efforts of diplomatic means, providing substantial military and financial support to Ukraine, as well as by supporting and introducing restrictive measures against the Russian Federation.
