Maintenance is not affordable: why Indonesia is in no hurry to buy in the Russian Federation Su-35

In the long run, experts believe, even taking into account the primary high cost of F-15 fighters, the operation of the Russian Su-35 can cost the country much more expensive than Western samples. The Indonesia government is in no hurry to implement an agreement and buy a Su-35 fighter batch in Russia. On the one hand, the Indonesians are afraid of sanction pressure from the US, on the other - Russian cars, as it turned out, may not be affordable in the country's Air Force in terms of service.

This is stated in Bulgarian Militation from April 5. Viewers say that Indonesia rightly wants to not get under the effect of Caatsa - the Federal Law of the United States "on confronting the opponents of America with the help of sanctions", because otherwise relations with the states may be significantly spoiled. These sanctions can stop US trade and supply defense equipment to Indonesia.

Moreover, the irony of fate, for its military modernization of Indonesia, just desperately requires defense equipment from the United States. Without him, the military experts of the country noted, the modernization of the Armed Forces will be strongly stagnant. However, the reason why Indonesia is in no hurry to get Russian Su-35 may lie in another. However, Moscow reported that he did not receive any official message from Indonesia about termination of the agreement.

The authors of the material point out that there is a widespread opinion about Western military technologies, which, they say, have undergone combat tests and are durable. But prices for such weapons systems can "bite", and for some countries their purchase can be burdensome. Conversely, the Russian MIC can offer more profitable contracts, but not everything is so unambiguous.

Indeed, although the initial investments in Western production defense equipment may seem significant, they become more accessible when considering the cost of spare parts, maintenance and operation. Conversely, when it comes to Russian equipment, it may first seem profitable, but in the long run it is more expensive. For example, taking into account the cost of maintenance and operation, the flight to the Indonesian Su-30 costs $ 18,000 per hour in the air.

"Keep in mind that every 1500 SU-30 flight hours require repair, and costs for it are almost $ 27 million a year. For comparison, the cost of modernization and service of the Indonesian F-16 is more than $ 19 million for every unit,"-said Viewers. Such figures can alert the Indonesia government, because in the case of Su-35 it is already about $ 30,000 for every hour of flight-this is more expensive than F-15 Eagle II, whose flight cost is $ 24,000 per hour.

In this case, the cost of one unit of F-15 Eagle II can reach $ 101 million, and this may seem expensively expensive compared to the SU-35 price, which is about $ 69. 4 million per unit. Experts have suggested that this situation was due to the lack of Su-35 combat units around the world, which forces Russia to bear higher production costs for spare parts for a limited batch of these aircraft.

On the other hand, the large presence of F-16 in the world, calculated by thousands of units, leads to more affordable costs for mass production and spare parts. Therefore, even the most modern version, F-16 Viper, at the price is similar to Su-35 or even can be cheaper, experts summed up.
