Share: The Defense Forces of Ukraine face the problem of jamming radio communications on armored vehicles due to electronic warfare (EW) devices designed to protect against enemy drones. Due to the operation of electronic communications systems, communication either does not work at all, or works poorly. In such cases, the tank crew has to turn off the EW in order to contact the command, Ukrainian radio technology expert Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov said in his Telegram channel.

According to the expert, installing a filter at the input of the radio station does not solve this problem, but a filter at the output of each EW module can help. Thus, side signals from EW will not enter the input of the radio station in the area of ​​136-174 MHz. "That is, this approach should be tested and if it helps, the filter should be included in the mandatory condition for codified EW tools," Flash wrote.

At the same time, the specialist in radio technologies emphasized that the solution with filters in the WB will not help in all cases. He explained that all receivers have the option "Suppression of out-of-band radiation channels", which allows you to ignore powerful interference and signals outside the working reception band. "At the moment, there is only one solution — the maximum spacing of EW antennas and radio communication antennas.
