On the fourth anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed a decree awarding state awards to volunteers, energy workers, teachers, doctors, journalists, cultural figures and athletes. In particular, Yuriy Savchuk, director general of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, was awarded the II degree Order of Merit.

Under his leadership since February 2022, the museum has been collecting war artifacts: military equipment, wreckage of missiles and drones, documents, photographs, personal belongings of military and civilians. The first exhibition about the life of Ukrainians under the occupation opened in May 2022. Yurii Savchuk went to the settlements immediately after their liberation from the Russian occupiers, in particular to Buchi, Irpen, Izyum, Kherson.

A few days after the start of the Kursk operation, he was in the Kursk region and brought back a lot of exhibits from there. Members of the band "Kurgan & Agregat", volunteers Yevhenii Volodchenko, Amil and Ramil Nasirovy are among those awarded the Order of Merit III degree. The head of state awarded the Order of Princess Olga of the III degree to literary critic and writer Vira Ageyeva - the author of numerous publications on the history of Ukrainian modernist literature, biography and gender aspects of art.
