Former Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces advised to go to defense and reformat the front - BBC (video)

The forces of defense conducted a truly successful special operation on the left bank of the Dnieper, said General Muzhenko. However, he stressed that this happened with a number of other offenses, and one must focus on one. Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (2014-2019), General Viktor Muzhenko explained that statements about the continuation of the counter-offensive do not reflect the real situation on the battlefield.

The officer listed the directions in which the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were pressed and explained what would need to be done. Muzhenko posted his thoughts in an interview, which gave the BBC information agency. Muzhenko stressed that today the war has not gone into a dead end. However, it is worth moving to strategic defense, which stipulates that when there is an opportunity, the fighters will attack the enemy.

"I believe that today is an urgent issue to move to strategically active defense, which would provide for counter -strikes. And in the case of success in certain areas - a counterattack at the level of the relevant units. " According to the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, you need to "reformat the front" and form reserves.

"Reformatting" is required throughout the front line from the bare pier to Kupyansk, as well as on the borders of Ukraine in the east and north - that is, from Kharkiv to Rivne region and Volyn region. As for reserves, the military meant the creation of units from trained and motivated fighters. These units must be fully completed with the necessary weapons and military equipment.

It is necessary to change the management system: now everything is closed on one governing body, so it is impossible to respond promptly to calls. "We need to understand what groups are and where the reserves are," the officer emphasized. According to the expert commander, there are several stress points on the front line - it is here that Russian troops show increased activity.

In particular, he named the following directions: Kupyansky-there are real attacks, Limansky-here the enemy tries to displace the Armed Forces for the Oskil River, Bakhmutsk-Avdiivsky-"A very difficult situation for the Armed Forces", Mariinsky-Fighting became more intense, Dniprovsky-the Armed Forces. The Russian Federation wants to win the bridgehead, where the Ukrainians are entrenched.

The general also named some shortcomings, which, in his opinion, were allowed during the planning and implementation of the Armed Forces counter -offensive. First, the defense forces did not have the advantage of living strength and technology: there was parity 1 to 1 or 1. 2 to 1 (in favor of Ukraine). Secondly, there were several points to take offensive actions, whereas it would be necessary to focus on one direction, such as Crimean.

Third, it seems that the calculations in the right equipment and weapons were made without too much on the estimates of the Ukrainian command. In an interview, Muzhenko noted a successful, albeit delayed, capture of the bridgehead on the Left Bank, stressed that not always success is achieved by the latest weapons, and noted the problems with mobilization to the Armed Forces - when people have no motivation and the authorities did not establish effective processes.

It should be noted that in early November, the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, General Valery Zaluzhny, published a column on the portal of The Economist, in which he told that Ukraine was needed to ensure that the war did not enter a dead end. After that, the media published the position of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky: the politician stated that he was confident in the victory, and noted that the situation was really difficult.

Meanwhile, Economist has published two more articles concerning war in Ukraine. In one article published on November 28, it is a "political split" in the Ukrainian authorities - the material provoked a reaction to the People's Deputy from the "servants of the people" Mariana Bezsloy, who accused General Zaluzhny of "excitement for ratings".

On November 30, another publication was published, in which the authors assumed that Russian President Vladimir Putin could take advantage of the situation and gain benefits in the Russian-Ukrainian war. We would like to remind you that on November 30, the media reported an extraordinary event that occurred on the railway in Buryatia: several dozen tanks with fuel tanks were lit in a 15-kilometer tunnel.
